- It is time for all fans to join together in a move that
is long overdue. The retirement of number 82. The number worn
so proudly for so many years by one of our favorite Browns, and
Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome, "the Wizard of Oz."
- We cannot expect the current "West Coast Management Team" to understand what Ozzie Newsome, and the number 82 means to us Clevelanders. But we cannot sit back another year watching some rookie get the number 82, and wear it as if it is just another number. Instead of the number of one of Cleveland's best and brightest sports stars, and even Hero. We cannot change many of the attitudes currently being exhibited by the "new" Browns fear of; fans, tailgate parties, old players, banners, giving coaches a fair break, and even the "Dawg Pound," and fans in the Dawg Pound. But we will not sit idlely by on this topic.
- So we ask all REAL CLEVELAND BROWNS FANS to work together with the most PRO-ACTIVE fan group in the NFL, the Cleveland Kennel Club in our petition drive to get the number 82 retired, NOW!
Please download the CKC petition pdf.file and print as many as you need. Do not get more than one signature per fan, ask if they have signed it before. Send pages and the file to other fans. We will monitor and report the numbers on a week by week basis.
You are not sure the fans have an impact, let me assure you, the fans are the power base, we can move mountains.

This number thing should be easy.
